こちらの機体はEpophoneとGibson CustomShopとのコラボレーションにより製作されたEpiphone Limited Edition 1959 Les Paul Standard リイシューモデルです。
ボディにはAAA フィギュアド・メイプルベニアトップ、マホガニーバックを採用、まさに王道のスペックを踏襲しており、非常に美しい木目に拘っています。
塗装はエイジドフィニッシュという仕様が採用されており、鳴りを活かす塗膜の薄いサテンのような滑らかな仕上がりとなっています。またネックジョイント部にはロングネックテノンも取り入れボディの鳴りを高めています。
ピックアップにはGibsonUSA純正のBurstBucker 2 & 3が搭載されています。作り込みはもちろんピックアップにも拘り、現代的なパワーを持ちつつ、59モデルをリスペクトしたセレクトです。
ディテールとしては、Switchcraft セレクタースイッチ及びアウトプットジャック、CTS ポット、50年代仕様のワイヤリング採用、Mallory コンデンサ、Epiphone Limited Edition のメタル・メダリオン・トグルスイッチ・プレート搭載と電装系統も抜かりなく、ルックスにも拘りが見られます。
音質は透明感があり、素直な出音であると同時に、ジャンルレスに対応できるだけの幅広さを持ち合わせています。値段以上のクオリティーを体現している意欲作です。
